Lisa Olivia Munn was conceived in Oklahoma City. Kimberly Schmid is of Chinese origin and grew up in Vietnam. Her father Winston Barrett Munn is from an American family which has strong roots in the South of America. The couple divorced when Olivia was two years old, and she was raised by her mother and stepfather, a member of the United States Air Force. Olivia was raised mostly at Tokyo and Japan. Although her family was relocated from Oklahoma to many other places but it was in Tokyo which she completed the majority of her education. She appeared in local theatre productions during this period and became a fashion model for the Japanese industry. Olivia was a model who been living with her parents in Los Angeles in order to achieve her dream of becoming an actor was determined to pursue this goal when the family moved back to the United States. Her acting journey began by playing a minor character. It was then that her acting career took off when she was hired as Mily Acuna on the Hawaii-lensed television show Beyond the Break (2006). In 2007 she appeared as Rob Schneider's Receptionist. The show's host is "The Daily Nut", "Formula D", and "The Formula D Podcasts" on G4. Surfing is her passion, and she practices it since the TV series Beyond the Break (2006). She is also a black-belt in taekwondo. The woman she married was her mother at the age of two years old, to an Air Force Officer. Although the family moved around a lot, her mother took her to Tokyo which she shared in the military. She attended at the University of Oklahoma, where she studied journalism, and minored in Japanese as well as dramatic arts.
